Although one single player did not lose the game for the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night, tight end Mark Andrews had two opportunities to lead his team to victory and he squandered them both. If there was blame to be placed on one single player, most NFL fans would point to the seventh-year veteran.
He is the scape goat.
However, if you believe in superstition, it might not be his fault! The Ravens issued a horrible jinx on Andrews prior to the AFC Divisional Round. They proudly declared that “a little snow” does not bother him while he warmed up without sleeves or pants during warmups.

Of course, that post aged like milk. Andrews caught five passes for 61 yards during the two-point loss to the Buffalo Bills but nobody will remember the ones he did catch. They will remember the one he dropped on a two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter. Baltimore never got the ball back.

Andrews also committed one of the worst fumbles in recent history. He chose to cut back up field into the defense instead of running forward toward the end zone and coughed it up.

Both incidents were catastrophic. Both incidents were also completely out of character.
Mark Andrews has just 32 drops in his entire NFL career and only three in 2024. He had not lost a fumble since 2019 and it was the only fumble recovered by the opposition in his entire career. That was it.
Well…. now he has two lost fumbles in his career and four drops in 2024. One was more costly than the others.
Needless to say, a little snow did in fact bother Mark Andrews despite what the Baltimore Ravens posted on social media prior to kickoff. He is not the lone responsible party for the loss but the jinx was very real.
