According to allegations in a new civil filing, former NFL quarterback turned Fox broadcaster Mark Sanchez was under the influence of several drugs when he was stabbed in Indianapolis last October.
On Oct. 4, 2025, news broke that Sanchez was in critical condition following a stabbing in downtown Indianapolis. Further video showed Sanchez attacking 69-year-old truck driver Perry Toles before Toles stabbed him in an act of self-defense.
Sanchez is now facing charges of felony battery, as well as three misdemeanor charges. Additionally, Tole is suing Sanchez in civil court.
In the latest filing, Tole’s attorney alleges that Sachez was under the influence of several drugs at the time of the incident.
Civil Filing Claims Mark Sanchez Took Fentanyl, Cocaine, And More Before Stabbing
According to a report by the Daily Mail, the latest civil filing claims that Sanchez was under the influence of “multiple illegal substances” prior to the incident.
“[This is] including but not limited to cocaine, marijuana, fentanyl, and alcohol,” the filing reads. “Plaintiff has cause to believe that one or more of these substances may have been consumed in one of Huse’s establishments, which caused or contributed to Sanchez’s impairment and his subsequent negligent and/or knowing conduct.”
Unsurprisingly, Sanchez’s representation is denying the allegations.
“These are allegations in a civil filing, nothing more, and they should be treated accordingly. Allegations are not evidence. The truth will be determined by facts and evidence presented at trial, and we look forward to presenting them at the appropriate time,” Sanchez’s attorney Andrew M. McNeil said in a statement.
Sanchez lost his job with Fox shortly after the incident. Additionally, his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his son claimed that “none of this is surprising to me” when speaking about the altercation.
