To be the best you have to beat the best and it appears, at least from the photos below, that Mark Zuckerberg was able to temporarily subdue Marcelo Garcia who is known as the best pound-for-pound submission grappler around. Zuckerberg shared photos from a recent training session with Marcelo Garcia where he learned from the master.
Marcelo Garcia holds a 4th degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and is a 5x World jiu-jitsu champion and 4x champion at the ADCC Submission Fighting World Championships. Garcia is considered by his peers to be among the best there ever was so if you’re centibillionaire Mark Zuckerberg with endless resources and also in pursuit of MMA greatness who better is there to enlist the help of than this master of his trade?
Marcelo Garcia is actually facing off against Masakazu Imanari today at ONE 170 which IS WILD when you consider that Garcia was diagnosed with stomach chancer in January 2023, underwent chemotherapy treatment, and has since made a full recovery and returned to fighting.
Here is Facebook co-founder and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who was foil surfing in Hawaii less than a week ago and now training with the master of submission grappling, hitting the mats with Marcelo Garcia:

This is just the latest in a long line of high-profile training sessions with MMA/boxing/combat sport masters. A few weeks ago, Zuck got in a session with Max Holloway:
It remains to be seen *when* MZ will put his first competitive MMA match on the books but all signs indicate that could come sometime this year if he progresses at this rate. Prior to tearing his ACL in November 2023, Mark had indicated a competitive MMA match was coming. Now it seems like that reality could be closer than ever.
