Marvin Harrison Jr saw his day end early on Sunday after being sidelined with a concussion against the Green Bay Packers. After being tackled on a play, the rookie receiver appeared disoriented before falling to the ground.

Medical staff quickly came out to look at the Arizona star, who was immediately escorted to the tent on the bench.

It was a scary scene for one of the NFL’s young playmakers as the league continues to find solutions for major head injuries.

Precautionary moves include the introduction of protective “Guardian caps,” new rules, and a focus on the implementation of those new policies from a referee perspective.

In many ways, they’ve made the game much safer. Still, it’s impossible to eliminate concussions completely, which we saw with Marvin Harrison Jr.

In this case, there didn’t appear to be any illegal activity leading to the injury. It was just an unfortunate outcome of the play.

Still, it would cost the pass catcher the rest of the contest.

Hopefully, it won’t cost him more.

Without Harrison on the field, the Arizona Cardinals struggled. The team fell behind 24-0 with the offense unable to find the endzone until the two-minute mark in the first half.

The Cardinals will continue to evaluate their leading receiver throughout the week with hopes of seeing his return in Week 7 for a matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night.
