If the world of college football was not already chaotic enough, a fake account on social media is posing as the director of player personnel at Maryland. He is not a real member of the staff.
The university had to issue a warning to any prospective recruits who might get scammed.
This kind of thing happens more often than it should. In college football and in college sports in general. Let this be a lesson. Always check the staff before you report an official offer.
Merci Falaise is the General Manager of Player Personnel.
According to the official website for athletics at the University of Maryland, the football program has multiple staffers in charge of recruiting. That is the case at most programs.

They are the only ones who are involved with recruiting outside of the actual coaching staff. Only Falaise and Thomas would offer a scholarship to a prospective student-athlete, if that. It might just be coaches.
Everybody else is there to help facilitate the process.
I say all of this to drive the point home. If you are a recruit and you receive outside communication from someone who claims to be affiliated with the Terrapins and he or she is not on the above list, or on the coaching staff, you are being scammed.
Maryland is dealing with a college football recruiting scam.
A fake account on X is actively posing as the director of player personnel at Maryland.
It joined the social media website in 2023 and has 719 followers. I would imagine that it has changed its name a few different times before it landed on ‘Andrew Green’ with the handle @coachDREWgreen.
First and foremost, we already established that the Terrapins do not have a director of player personnel. Falaise is the GM of Player Personnel. Thomas is the Coordinator of Player Personnel.
Secondly, a man by the name of Andrew Green does not exist on the staff. It is fake!!
Unfortunately, some recruits did not know the account is an imposter before they tagged it in their posts. For example:
It is my hope that these two athletes (and others) actually received an offer from a different person at Maryland— a real person — and they tagged @coachDREWgreen after they confirmed the offer actually exists. I really hope these recruits did not get an offer from “Andrew Green” and report the offer as legit, not knowing that it isn’t.
