Given that the Green Bay Packers beat the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 16-10 in Week 2, there weren’t that many explosive highlights from the game. There was, however, a projectile highlight.

During a 3rd-and-10 from the 47-yard-line in the second quarter, Packers center Josh Myers vomited on the ball just before snapping it to quarterback Malik Willis, who then decided to tuck the ball and run instead of trying to throw it.

Asked about the incident after the game, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur had a hilarious reaction to the viral moment, saying it’s the first time he’s ever heard the excuse of “the ball was covered in puke” from a player.

“I asked Malik why he didn’t throw the ball on that third down and he told me that Josh threw up on the ball. I was like, ‘That’s the first time I’ve ever heard that,’” LaFleur told the media during the postgame press conference.

“Matter of fact, the official came over to me and said, ‘We saw your center throwing up on the ball. Do you want us to take him out next time?’ I said, ‘Absolutely. Please do that.’ Because, I mean, you’re talking about a critical situation. It’s third down. I’ve never had a throw with vomit on a football. So Malik probably didn’t appreciate that.”

Despite heading into the matchup as home underdogs due to the injury to starting quarterback Jordan Love in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Packers physically dominated the Indianapolis Colts in their 2024 home opener, particularly on the ground, as running back Josh Jacobs piled up 151 rushing yards in the 16-10 victory.

Following their win over the Colts, the Packers now have a 1-1 record as they enter their Week 3 matchup against the Tennessee Titans, who fell to 0-2 after losing to Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets in their home opener.
