UFC Fighter Matt Mitrione’s Eye Injury Is A BILLION Times More Horrific Looking Today

Yesterday, UFC witnessed one of the most all out nasty/gruesome injuries in the televised history of the sport. Nope, not arms snapping or anything like what happened to Anderson Silva at UFC 168, but seeing Matt Mitrione’s impossibly swollen right eye following a knockout versus Ronda Rousey’s boyfriend, Travis Browne, was just soooo gross dude. It was impossible to internet Sunday night without coming across pictures of it.

Mitrione took to Twitter in the early morning hours following the UFC Boston fight to share with fans his injury diagnosis, as well as how it was sustained (from two cheeky eye pokes).

And again later on Monday, when a fan inquired how it was looking. Why he would ever do that, I will never know, and now, I will surely never forget.

Mitrione responded to the fan with an even more recent picture of the injury and OMFG I’m gonna barf.

Goes without saying, but WARNING IT IS GRAPHIC.

Said it once, I’ll say it again. I’ll pass on becoming a UFC fighter. No glory in the world could ever drag me into a situation where I could possibly come out with my eye looking like that.

Do you know how hard you have to get hit to break your orbital!? Harder than I ever want to.

Nope, nope, nope. Hope the UFC retains a really good plastics guy, because Mitrione is looking at surgery out to wazoo. Sounds like they do, and that’s a great thing.

Here’s hoping him a speedy recovery and quick return tot he octagon. You know, if he can ever see out of his right eye again.
