Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby was traded to the Baltimore Ravens over the weekend, with many NFL fans seeing the city as the perfect fit for the 28-year-old’s unique personality. Memes about Crosby arriving in Baltimore and linking up with his Ravens teammates went viral over the weekend.

While Maxx Crosby is of Serbian and Albanian descent, was born in Lapeer, Michigan (81.7% white in the 2020 census) and raised in Colleyville, Texas (77.1%), his signature personality and style developed nonetheless.

There is a word for this type of person, although I’m not sure where it falls on the offensive scale, so we won’t be using it. Let’s just say it’s what critics of Eminem would call him back in the day. For the purposes of this article, we’ll just call it his “personality.”

Crosby’s personality has clearly become a well-known part of his image, as memes that highlighted how he’ll fit into Baltimore went massively viral over the weekend.

A five-time Pro Bowler, Crosby was drafted out of Eastern Michigan University by the Las Vegas Raiders in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. In seven years with the Raiders — his first year with the team was their last in Oakland — Crosby had 278 solo tackles, 161 assists, 69.5 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries and 1 interception. In his final campaign with Las Vegas, Crosby appeared in 15 games and had 73 total tackles, 10 sacks and the first interception of his career.

Crosby is set to bolster a Baltimore Ravens team that is expected to be a championship contender next season, as only the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks currently have shorter betting odds to win the Super Bowl.
