Team USA basketball pulled off a gold medal win over Team France in the Olympic finals this weekend, sending the host country home with silver.

Local McDonald’s restaurants around France could soon take a stand! The establishment’s social media networks posted a hilarious message about a potential boycott in the wake of the most recent loss.

That gold medal matchup was tightly contested throughout as each team traded blows over the first three and a half quarters of action. Then, it became the Steph Curry show.

The Golden State guard drained shot after shot to help Team USA build a late lead that would prove too much for France to overcome.

Curry racked up a team-high 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting. Each of those made shots came from beyond the arc.

His performance was incredible to watch for those on the American side. He would not be denied!

For those in France, it was painful – and it could result in a fast-food item being removed from menus.

McDonald’s France considers boycotting curry dipping sauce.

The post hilariously suggests that the well-known establishment will stop serving its curry dipping sauce “for a minimum of 4 years.”

The Olympic loss stings as the host country came oh-so-close to knocking off the favored US – a theme that carried over into the women’s gold medal matchup on Sunday.

That said, McDonald’s France doesn’t want the constant reminder of Steph Curry’s performance in Paris. You really can’t blame them!
