Meghan Trainor is public enemy No. 1 for NFL and college football fans in 2025. I am sure she is a lovely person but everything I know about her is against my will and I would much prefer not to see her face again this season.
Unfortunately, State Farm has decided to shove her down our throats until we scream.
We are only two weeks into the new football season and I am already there. Consider this my scream.
Meghan Trainor’s biggest hit is fraudulent.
Hand up — I am not a Meghan Trainor fan. I do not fit her target demographic and that’s totally fine! She is not concerned with my opinion anyway. I will not make or break her career.
With that being said, I am acutely aware of two songs.
Whoops is kind of a banger. And I’d be lying if I said she doesn’t look damn good in the music video.
Here’s the thing. That video was released more than a year ago, which leads us to our next song.
‘All About That Bass’ is Trainor’s biggest hit. It is a song about body positivity. The lyrics are rooted in self-acceptance, especially for women with curvier body types. It challenges unrealistic beauty standards and celebrates confidence.
And yet, Meghan Trainor lost a lot of weight on the drug Mounjaro after the birth of her second child.
Ironic, isn’t it? She is no longer about the bass. Just treble.
State Farm’s newest commercial makes me want to rip out my hair.
Even though Trainor looks nothing like she did when she dropped ‘All About That Bass’ in 2014, it continues to be her most popular song. You will be hearing it a lot over the next six months whether you want to or not.
State Farm decided to use a play on Trainor’s last name for its latest commercial. She serves as the ditzy athletic trainer for Patrick Mahomes. Get it? Trainer… Trainor…
I’ll give credit to Meghan Trainor where credit is due. She probably received a sizable paycheck for acting like an idiot on national television. I can’t knock the hustle. Get that money, girl!
However, I am already sick and tired of this commercial after just two weeks.
If I had to guess, I have already heard Trainor sing ‘All About That Bass’ to Mahomes more than 20 times since the official start of football season. It is the bane of my existence and I know I am not alone.
It is to the point that I will actively choose to use any other insurance provider because of this commercial. Maybe, just maybe, State Farm will remove this commercial from our airwaves if enough people subscribe to this self-proclaimed boycott with me. Please. Release me from this nightmare.
