Mets Broadcast Clowned On Aaron Rodgers, Speculated He’s Under Pat McAfee’s Couch, Said Brett Favre Is The Better Jet

Where in the world is Aaron Rodgers has become the talk of the sports world this week and New York Mets broadcaster Gary Cohen thinks he has an idea of Rodgers’ whereabouts, and that’s under Pat McAfee’s couch.

During the top of the 9th inning of the Mets 10-4 win over the Miami Marlins on Wednesday, June 12, Gary Cohen and Steve Gelbs — who, in addition to his Mets duties with SNY, also hosts Jets-centric programs for the network — discussed Aaron Rodgers’ decision to bail on the Jets’ mandatory minicamp for an ‘important’ event.

While the sports world has speculated that he’s in California for a RFK Jr. event and Colin Cowherd claims that Rodgers is on an “overseas vacation,” Cohen’s suggestion is by far the funniest of them all.

“Aaron Rodgers has taken four snaps in his Jets career, correct? Do you think he’ll take anymore?” beloved play-by-play man Gary Cohen asked Steve Gelbs, who is the host of the Jets’ pre-and-postgame shows on SNY.

“I sure do, and I’ll tell ya: I don’t care where he is right now. Just go win games in the regular season,” Gelbs replied.

“You know, my feeling right now is if you look at their relative Jet careers, Brett Favre has, so far, had a better Jets career than Aaron Rodgers,” Cohen mused.

Cohen and Gelbs then went back and forth with some banter about the difficult year that Gelbs has endured as a New York Sports fan before Cohen made the crack about McAfee’s couch.

“So, where do you think he is? Is he like under Pat McAfee’s couch or something?” Cohen joked. “That might be the best possibility,” Gelbs replied.

According to Cowherd, who said on Wednesday, June 12 that a source told him Rodgers was on vacation, said that the public will find out where exactly he is on Thursday, June 13, which is likely music to Rodgers’ ears, as he’s accomplished his ultimate goal of having people talk about him.
