The New York Mets have been waiting a long time to see ace Jacob deGrom throw pitches again. Well, their wish is coming true on Tuesday as deGrom is slated to start against the Washington Nationals an hour after the MLB Trade Deadline passes.
deGrom pitched in just 15 games last season for the Mets but posted a 7-2 record with a 1.08 ERA before suffering an injury. As deGrom worked his way back from injury, he suffered setbacks, and the Mets started to be concerned.
However, now he is back, the Max Scherzer-Jacob deGrom duo is on board for the Mets.

The MLB Trade Deadline ends at 6 PM EST, and after that, all eyes will be on deGrom. The question is, will Juan Soto be hitting for the Nationals? Probably not.
When healthy, deGrom is easily among the best pitchers in baseball, and the Mets’ World Series aspirations hinge on this star-studded pitching rotation.
deGrom admitted he’ll be a bit nervous, which is to be expected.
Jacob deGrom says he'll probably be nervous on Tuesday night:

Here we go: Jacob deGrom is back. The Mets have a 3.5-game lead over the Atlanta Braves in the National League East, and if deGrom can stay healthy, they should be able to capture the division crown.
