At 6-8, the playoff hopes for the Dallas Cowboys are slim, but technically still alive. Micah Parsons and his teammates would need to win out and get a ton of help to sneak in to the postseason.

Still, you’d think the players on the team would be focused on doing everything they can to make the playoffs, and would be rooting for the teams they need to root for in order to make the playoffs. That’s not the case for Micah Parsons, who is rooting against Dallas’s interests this week.

Parsons has missed four games this year due to injury, but has been otherwise dominant when he’s been on the field. Since returning from an ankle in early November, he has 7.5 sacks in 6 games. He is, once again, one of the league’s best players.

He’s also known for being pretty outspoken. And, that’s exactly what he was when he was asked if he would be rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend. The Eagles play the Washington Commanders. At 9-5, the Commanders in the 7th spot in the NFC playoff picture. One more win would eliminate Dallas from contention.

Here’s what Parsons had to say.

Nah, at this point, it’s f— Philly, now. Even if we got eliminated, like, I gotta crush Philly. F— them. I hate them now. I be seeing them talk so much on social (media).

It’s even more funny when you consider that Micah Parsons grew up in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area. Most locals root for the Eagles. But, he grew up a Cowboys fan, so that hatred for Philadelphia has been ingrained in him.

Micah Parsons should be in line for a record-setting contract extension this offseason. The question is whether it will be with the Cowboys, who have a bit of a cash crunch in future seasons, of if he will be traded and then sign an extension with a new team. By the sounds of these comments, it sounds like he won’t want that team to be the Eagles.

Dallas hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday night.
