To celebrate its return to NFL Network’s airwaves after a months-long hiatus, Good Morning Football recruited legendary announcer Michael Buffer to introduce to the show on Monday, July 29.

The show had taken a few months off as it relocated from New York City to Los Angeles, bringing its crew of Jamie Erdahl, Kyle Brandt, Peter Schrager, Sherree Burruss, and Akbar Gbajabiamila with it.

“Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, my name is Michael Buffer and it is my honor to reintroduce the undisputed greatest football show in the history of the world, Good Morning Football! Buffer says.

The 79-year-old Buffer, known for his famed catchphrase “Let’s get ready to rumble!”, spent decades as an announcer in boxing, wrestling, baseball, hockey, basketball, football, and motorsports such as NASCAR and the Indy 500.  According to reports, Buffer has earned an estimated $400 million through his trademark of “Let’s get ready to rumble!”

Michael’s brother Bruce Buffer, 12 years his junior, serves as the current ring announcer for the UFC. Bruce Buffer, who became the UFC’s full-time ring announcer in 1997, is known for his catchphrase “It’s time!”, an effective albeit much less omnipresent catchphrase.

Launched in 2016, Good Morning Football airs on NFL Network and is basically a cross between SportsCenter and The Today Show, as it features highlights, reactions, breakdowns, interviews, and more.

In addition to the return of Good Morning Football, the franchise is also expanding with the launch of the new show GMFB: Overtime, which also premiered on July 29 on the Roku Channel.

Good Morning Football‘s relaunch coincides with the start of NFL training camps, which kicked off the week of July 22.
