PGA Tour golfer Michael Kim weighed in on the bizarre arrest of World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler at the PGA Championship on Friday. The fellow Tour member was as stunned as everyone else to see what transpired in the wee hours of the morning leading into the tournament’s second round.

Kim posted a series of messages on X to display both confusion and frustration with the situation. Many of his responses to the chaos have now gone viral.

Kim, who turned pro in 2013, is not participating in the PGA Championship field this season. That gave him the opportunity to follow along as news of Scheffler’s detainment, and subsequent booking, unfolded.

The incident began after someone was tragically struck and killed by a shuttle bus near the course. Attempting to make his way to the Valhalla Golf Club, Scheffler reportedly drove around the accident as instructed by tournament officials.

Rather than be escorted through the area, though, Scheffler was stopped by police, cuffed, and sent to the station.

Hours later, he made his return to the course, teeing off just after 10 AM Friday morning. Still, it provided an unforeseen distraction – as well as a quartet of criminal charges!

Having seen everything that took place, many immediately vented via online outlets.

Michael Kim commented on Scottie Scheffler’s PGA Championship arrest.

Taking to social media, the golfer posted a series of messages on the situation. He was not happy!

He rifled off a number of posts after the arrest, seeming to get more upset the longer he thought about it.

I assume Scottie thought there was a small issue causing some traffic, and with a courtesy car, cops usually let us go thru ahead so we’re not caught up behind unnecessarily. Scottie was probably just thinking I need to get to the course to start my routine on time. Obviously with the circumstances, the cop was on edge and not letting anything go.

Not believing there was any ill-intent, Kim perceived this to be an honest mistake. As time passed, he continued to stew on the situation.

I will never drive around other cars in traffic driving into a golf tournament ever again… something I’ve done countless of times

Kim later questioned the validity of the tournament’s winner should Scheffler not come out victorious.

I thought this was going to be the major with no asterisk…

This is the world’s top golfer, who’s been on an absolute tear this season. In 10 events, he’s won four times while posting nine Top 10 finishes. He was again near the top of the leaderboard on Friday before entering his second round of PGA Championship,

We’ll see if the distraction has a negative effect.
