According to new reports, Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher was seen in public over the weekend for the first time since suffering a brain injury during a skiing accident in 2013.

The 55-year-old reportedly attended his 27-year-old daughter Gina’s wedding to Iain Bethke at his family’s luxury $36 million Port d’Andratx villa in Majorca.

German media outlets reported that wedding guests were asked to hand over their cell phones to the property’s security to ensure that no photos could be taken of Michael Schumacher during the event.

The only photo from the wedding to have been made public was shared by Schumacher’s daughter Gina.

Talksport reports that Michael’s son and former Formula One driver Mick Schumacher as well as his brother Ralf Schumacher were in attendance, but not Michael Schumacher’s former manager Willi Weber.

“I have had no contact with the family for over ten years,” he told Bild. “I can barely remember what even happened.

“I was not invited to the wedding, but I wouldn’t have gone anyway because my health is not good at the moment. I would not have wanted to fly to Mallorca.”

Weber added, “Nobody knows exactly what’s going on with him today, so I don’t want to comment any further.

“Gina’s wedding brings back memories. I’m thinking about my successes with Michael – our goals and our victories.

“I remember Michael the way he was. And we probably won’t see each other again.”

Ralf Schumacher previously told German magazine Bunte last year that he was no longer in contact with his brother.

To this day, no one outside of a very, very small group of people (reports claim three close family members and his medical personnel) have been allowed access to the former F1 champ since his injury.

His wife Corinna (pictured above with Michael in 2005) has kept his health shrouded in secrecy

Last October, Michael Schumacher’s lawyer, Felix Damm, revealed why no “final report” on the globally famous former racer has ever been made public.

“It was always about protecting private things,” Damm told German media outlet LTO. “We considered whether a final report about Michael’s health could be the right way to do this.

“But that wouldn’t have been the end of it and there would have had to be constantly updated ‘water level reports’ and it would not have been up to the family when the media interest in the story stopped.”
