Much uncertainty surrounds the Michigan football program. Head coach Sherrone Moore has been fired. A replacement has not yet been named.

The future of the coaching staff is unclear. That’s sparked rumors surrounding starting quarterback Bryce Underwood. Will he be with the Wolverines in 2026?

Moore’s dismissal was a shock following a 9-3 campaign. An inappropriate relationship with a staff member gave the school reason to let him go with cause. He was arrested on the day of his firing, only adding to the drama.

The search for his replacement is now on. The Wolverines have swung and missed on a few top targets. A new candidate is reportedly in the crosshairs.

Michigan football wants Jeff Brohm.

The Louisville coach is gearing up for the Boca Raton Bowl after winning eight games with the Cardinals. He is receiving interest from UM.

Who is in the crosshairs for Michigan right now? I think you have to look at Jeff Brohm. Jeff Brohm from Louisville, he’s been a guy they’ve been vetting very thoroughly from the very beginning. The search firm had reached out to him, reached out to his agent anyway, already. And then they made direct contact (on Sunday), and so how quickly will that escalate?

Michigan has reportedly been in contact with his camp. We should know if the interest is mutual once Louisville’s season comes to an end.

Brohm is a proven commodity with experience in the Big Ten. He guided Purdue to four bowl games in seven seasons. He’s since gone 27-12 with the Cardinals across four campaigns.

Brohm has a history of winning and offensive success. That makes him attractive to the Wolverines. It could also give their quarterback another reason to stay put.

Bryce Underwood speculation swirls.

The passer is rumored to be weighing his options following the coaching changes, most notably that of offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey. Interim head coach Biff Poggi was asked about the QB’s future during bowl prep.

Poggi sidestepped the question, saying the focus is on Texas. It does little to ease concern, though the belief is that Underwood will be on the roster come ’26.

The signal caller signed a massive NIL deal ahead of his freshman year valued at $12 million. That came after a star-studded high school career down the road at Belleview.

His previous flirtation with LSU did cause some to whisper about a potential pairing with Lane Kiffin. At this point in time, though, the coach seems to be more interested in Trinidad Chambliss at Ole Miss.

For now, the belief is that Bryce Underwood will play for Michigan next year. We’ll know more when the Wolverines hire their next coach. Jeff Brohm is the rumored target. We’ll soon see how the dominos fall.
