Mikayla Demaiter was always seemingly destined for stadom.
At first, it appeared that Demaiter would be a star on the ice as a standout hockey goalie.
But that dream sadly came to an abrupt end due to a career-ending injury.
“Dear Hockey, It is time to say goodbye. It is time to turn the page and move to the next chapter of my life, for the first time you will not be my number one focus,” she said in a retirement post in 2019. “I want to thank you for the places we’ve gone together. I also want to thank you for all the friends you have made me. My family sends their best as well. I know they will definitely miss seeing us together. I am excited for the future because everything you have taught me will allow me to succeed. There will still be early mornings, new adventures and new friends, and I hope that I embrace them with the same love and passion I did for you. Thanks again for everything.”
For most, that would be the end of their hopes of becoming a star. But not for Demaiter. Instead, she pivoted to modeling and has since become immensely successful.
Demaiter has over 2.3 million followers on her Instagram page. And it quickly becomes evident why with one look at her stunning posts.
In her latest viral offering, Demaiter welcomes her followers to “Mikayla’s world” while walking the boardwalk in a crop top and shorts.
In less than 24 hours, the post has nearly 150,000 likes and over 3,500 comments.
“Some people were born to shine,” one comment read.
While another said “you are very charming and your beauty amazes me every day.”
Who knows if Demaiter’s hockey career would’ve panned out. But the modeling career has been an unquestioned success.”
