Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy was happy to escape Saturday with a come-from-behind victory over SEC foe Arkansas. But while the Cowboys got the win, he didn’t believe the game should’ve been as close as it was.

Gundy blasted the officiating crew after the fact, calling out former SEC head referee Steve Shaw by name. He wasn’t happy!

“That’s an SEC crew,” he said in his postgame presser. “We’ve done [these things] before. We did it all preseason in scrimmages with Big 12 crews and didn’t get it called. So, Steve Shaw is the head of the officiating. He needs to fix it.”

He’s begging to be fined!

The head coach was critical of certain calls, as well as the crew’s clock management late in the game. It didn’t come back to bite, but he says it could’ve!

It’s worth noting that Oklahoma State was penalized six times for 60 yards, one time less than Arkansas. Still, Mike Gundy believed the officiating to be stacked against his Cowboys.

OSU would overcome those perceived slights to win an exciting 39-31 shootout in double overtime. QB Alex Bowman was the offensive star, compiling 326 yards through the air to lead his team back from an early 21-7 deficit.

Leading rusher Ollie Gordon put the exclamation point on the game with a decisive 12-yard touchdown scamper in that final overtime period.

With the win, Mike Gundy and Co. moved to 2-0 on the year. They’ve since moved up to No. 13 in the latest AP Poll.
