Michigan Wolverines’ running back coach Mike Hart is living out the fairytale ending. Hart was a star running back for the Wolverines from 2004-2007. He was a three-time first-team All-Big Ten selection and is still the program’s all-time leading rusher with 5,040 career yards.

Hart then had a three-year NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts before getting into coaching. Fast forward 10 years and Jim Harbaugh brought back the program legend to be the Wolverines’ running back coach.

In his first season, Hart coached one of the best rushing attacks in the nation and Michigan reached the College Football Playoff for the first time.

He once again has one of the country’s best units in 2022, led by star back Blake Corum. But on Saturday, Hart and UM fans underwent a scary moment during their game against Big Ten foe Indiana.

A medical cart was called to the Wolverines’ sideline during the first quarter after Hart reportedly collapsed.

Hart was carted off the field. But he was alert and gave fans a thumbs-up while leaving the field.

The scary scene understandably shook up some of the Michigan players.

Wolverines fans quickly sent out prayers and well wishes.

The Wolverines lead the Hoosiers 10-7 early in the second quarter. But the biggest concern is obviously with Hart and his health status.
