Dirty Boxing
Mike Perry’s unique combat sports league, Dirty Boxing Championship, is returning to Miami on Friday, April 10th, with a fight card that air will live for free on Dirty Boxing’s YouTube channel.
Launched in 2024, Dirty Boxing features several unique rules that combine elements of boxing and MMA into one sport that provides fan-friendly action.
– Small gloves (5oz) for more power
– Smaller ring (18ft) to force the action
– Short rounds with more fights
– No boring grappling stalemates
– All in on striking (elbows, fists and palms)
– Ground-and-pound finishes
DBX 6’s main event features Ron “The Wolf” Perez vs Michael Garcia.

April 10th, we’re bringing it back home to where it all started with a STACKED card from top to bottom.

Ahead of DBX 6, we sat down MMA/Bareknuckle superstar, and one of the founders of Dirty Boxing, Mike Perry, to break down the DBX 6 fight card, and his upcoming MMA fight vs Nate Diaz on Netflix.
Hey Mike, talk to us about the main event for DBX 6 between Ron “The Wolf” Perez vs Michael Garcia?
Mike Perry: The Wolf is very outgoing.. he can be mean and nasty. They are fighting, they are going to face each other and try to hurt each other and make each other bleed. So, you know, he wears it on his chest. And, you know, both of these guys are undefeated in DBX rule style. And they’ve both really gained a lot of clout with us.
They’ve helped us grow the sport. The sport has helped grow them. And April 10th is Friday, live and free on YouTube in the main event. These guys are going crazy. And the buildup to the main event with all the different stylistic matchups on the card between boxers and Muay Thai fighters, MMA guys versus kickboxers. We got the two tallest welterweights in the world pretty much facing each other and they’re both very sharp and dangerous. So, the card is just gonna be ridiculous.
Bryan “El Gallo” Duran is a star in the bareknuckle scene, how do you see him transitioning to Dirty Boxing?
El Gallo is Miami’s own. He’s bringing out a crowd and, you know, he puts on— he just had a big event as bare knuckle. Now he’s gonna put little gloves on and throw some elbows in there. El Gallo is in a position of performing at his best right now, so you know, I think no matter what the case is, I think you’re gonna get a very exciting matchup and fight out of him. The way our matchmaker’s been putting things together, he’s probably got a tough fight on his hands, and anyone’s gonna shine through it, El Gallo.
What sets Dirty Boxing apart from other combat sports?
I think it’s our rule set and our style, it’s very action-packed. You’re not allowed to really stall. I’s a small ring, so you can move and use your feet, but then it just— you end up in a corner really quickly, and if your opponent put the pressure, you know, that’s when the leather starts flying. So, these guys are pinned against each other in a must-be-active style combination. If you clinch, if there’s any holding, they’re gonna get a point deduction. So, the clinch, any holding has to be actively hitting. If you get a knockdown, it continues to the ground, the ground and pound. Find a way to survive that, back to your feet, right back to the punching, boxing, and elbows.
Could we see you in the Dirty Boxing ring in the near future?
I’m hoping so. I’m hoping to give the rule set a try, but I got a big fish to fry right now with Nate Diaz, May 16th, in mixed martial arts. So I’m finally making my return to mixed martial arts, and I think the paths that I have, the opportunities or options to go towards, you know, whichever one makes the most sense, my managers will help me figure that out.
How do you feel about returning to MMA to fight Nate Diaz?
It’s been incredible, man. Like, I’ve always been a martial artist at heart, and my journey has been so important to me. And, you know, going into bare-knuckle fighting in that phone booth style and having such success in it and people taking notice of it, I’m very grateful. And then getting the chance to go back to MMA, I’ve trained my whole body up now and, you know, I’m stretching, I’m flexible, I’m mixing in grappling and defending myself in different ways, and landing my devastating power. It’s been a great part of the journey to get back, and we still have over 5 weeks of training left, so I’m just staying consistent. I’m very dialed in and disciplined and getting better every day.
Do you think Nate (Diaz) is going to trade with you in the pocket instead of grappling with you?
Yeah, I think Nate is going to put pressure and box with me. I think he’s going to throw hands. I’m going to have to hit him. I’m going to have to hit him hard enough to make him grab me, and when he does, I need to capitalize on the grab. I need to use it in my advantage and hit him some more. You know, I’m just looking to hit him. I’m sure he knows that.
How excited are you to fight on Netflix?
Yeah, man, that’s huge this could be the most viewed MMA event of all time. How cool is that for that many people to be watching Platinum Mike Perry make his return to mixed martial arts and use everything. I was one who was very devastating in the clinch with elbows and knees. I’m getting a chance to do that again, and I have to utilize it.
