Mike White season has officially been put on hold for the New York Jets.
White got a ton of praise from football fans over the weekend after taking a huge hit against the Buffalo Bills and continuing to play.
Unfortunately, he won’t be able to do it again this weekend. White is going to miss the Jets’ game against the Detroit Lions because of a broken rib.
Despite the broken rib, it seems White tried to do everything he could to suit up anyway this weekend. He told reporters today that he called 10 different doctors to try and get one to clear him for Sunday’s game.
Mike White said he talked to 10 different doctors trying to get cleared and none of them would. Called it “frustrating.”
Said he’s only feeling “general soreness.” Doctors are just worried about contact. #Jets

It was a valiant effort from White to try and remain the team’s starter for another week. White had been a decent replacement for Zach Wilson through his first 3 games.
His time as the team’s starter began with a win over the Chicago Bears where he threw for 315 yards and 3 touchdowns. The results haven’t been quite as impressive over the past couple of weeks as the Jets have lost to the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills.
However, White was able to throw for 268 yards without an interception in Buffalo.
Now Zach Wilson will return to being the Jets starter for this weekend and seemingly for next week with White only having until Thursday to recover.
If Wilson is going to hold on to the job this time around, he’ll need to play a whole lot better than he was before his benching.
He’ll have a couple of weeks to prove that Mike White season should come to an end after 3 weeks for the Jets.
