The Mississippi State baseball team advanced to the second round of the SEC Tournament on Tuesday by taking down rival Ole Miss in dramatic fashion. A walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth lifted the Bulldogs to a 2-1 victory.

In the process, MSU ended the Rebels‘ 2024 season, sending their nemesis home with a losing record. The hitter who provided those late-game fireworks sent a cold message to his foes after launching that pitch into the left field stands.

Trailing 1-0 in the team’s final at-bat, Mississippi State’s Connor Hujsak stepped into the box. Hitless through his first three plate appearances, he’d hoped to bring in the tying run from third base to keep his team’s SEC Tournament hopes alive.

He’d do so, and more!

Facing Ole Miss’s Liam Doyle, Hujsak turned on a delivery from the lefty with two outs on the board, sending it flying over the outfield wall.

A celebration erupted at home plate as the Bulldogs gathered around to congratulate their hero.

As replays of the walk-off home run began to make their way around social media, a few online lip readers noticed a message uttered by Hujsak immediately after belting that dramatic bomb.

The Mississippi State hitter said, ‘Get the f— out of here!’

Was he talking to the ball or the Ole Miss Rebels? Both applied!

The Rebs entered the contest at 27-28 on the year, with NCAA Tournament hopes far from their minds. They were just playing to keep their season alive – and after 26 outs on Tuesday, it looked like they’d do so!

Enter Connor Hujsak.

By launching that homer, he not only secured a second round SEC Tournament matchup, but he ended State’s most hated rival’s season in heartbreaking fashion.

The win also avenged a regular season series loss in which the Bulldogs were run-ruled by the Rebels in the rubber match. It doesn’t get better than that!
