The Ole Miss Rebels are in the midst of one of the most memorable seasons in program history. But things have been far from normal of late in Oxford.
The biggest story, of course, surrounds head coach Lane Kiffin, who is being pursued by just about every big-name program in the country, chief among them, LSU and Florida.
However, the Gators appear to have turned their attention elsewhere.
Mississippi State Students Try To Sabotage Ole Miss Ahead Of Egg Bowl
Before Kiffin makes a decision on Saturday, the Rebels had to get through the in-state rival Mississippi State Bulldogs in the Egg Bowl on Friday. And Mississippi State students are doing all they can to make sure that happens.
According to Kiffin, several Bulldogs fans broke into the Ole Miss locker room ahead of the game and stole the jersey of Rebels’ quarterback Trinidad Chambliss.
Lane Kiffin in a SEC Network interview says Mississippi State fans broke into their locker room at 3 a.m. and stole quarterback Trinidad Chambliss’ jersey. They know this because they set up cameras in the dressing room.

Ole Miss only learned about the burglary because it set up cameras in the locker room to ensure that nothing similar happened. Thankfully, the Rebels also travel with backup jerseys.
Two videos showed the incident, the first showing the break-in itself and the second showing the burglars leaving the locker room with the jersey.
Ole Miss and Mississippi State first played the Egg Bowl in 1901 and have since met 121 times, with the Rebels leading the all-time series 66-49-6.
And the hatred between the two teams is very real. In 1926, Bulldogs fans had to fight off angry Rebels supporters with wooden chairs. So in hindsight, things could be way, way worse than just some fans stealing a jersey.
