The Missouri Tigers host SEC football rival Auburn this weekend with the team prepping for a sleepy Saturday morning kickoff. It’s homecoming in CoMo, and the Tigers are hoping to give the home crowd something to cheer about.

Mizzou wants to see a packed house in Faurot Field despite that early start time, and they’ve implemented a reliable tactic to persuade patrons to get to the stadium early. Their selling cheap beer at a pregame tailgate inside the venue!

Starting an hour and a half before kickoff, beer will be sold at the low, low price of $2.99. That’s practically free when considering the ridiculous costs of in-stadium alcohol these days.

Get in early, get a quick buzz, and root on the Tigers. What better way to spend a Saturday?!

Listen, nobody loves getting the early time slot as it often cuts into the pregame festivities. And for those students that spent Friday night out on the town, the task of getting up and to the stadium in time for kickoff can be quite difficult.

At least the school is acknowledging that fact and doing what it can to help out.

Head coach Eli Drinkwitz will certainly welcome the promotion. He’s been begging Missouri fans to show up for football games since Week 1.

Missouri’s creampuff schedule (in comparison to others around the league) hasn’t quite piqued the interests of the team’s supporters on a consistent basis.

There shouldn’t be much issue convincing folks to come support in this instance, given the cheap beer and a suitable SEC opponent. Should Mizzou pull out the win, they’d improve to 6-1, keeping College Football Playoff hopes alive.

That would also set up a massive showdown with Alabama the following week that could prove crucial in the Southeastern Conference championship race.

There will be much to cheer for in CoMo this weekend, and the school is doing its part to ensure that fans are both loud and timely when it comes to Saturday afternoon’s matchup with Auburn.

The promotion should help create a raucous environment in Memorial Stadium!
