Early in the second quarter of the SEC championship game between Missouri and Alabama, Missouri defensive end Shane Ray laid a vicious helmet to helmet to hit on Alabama QB Blake Sims. Sims was still able to throw a long touchdown pass to DeAndrew White just before the hit. Ray was subsequently ejected for targeting leaving Missouri down without their best defensive player for the rest of the game.
