Baseball fans are not happy with MLB commissioner Rob Manfred right now.
Less than a week after declaring “unequivocally we are going to play Major League Baseball this year.”, Manfred has since backtracked and is now saying he’s not confident there will be a 2020 baseball season while negotiations with players have hit an impasse.

Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred told ESPN on Monday he’s “not confident” there will be a 2020 baseball season and that “as long as there’s no dialogue” with the MLB Players Association, “that real risk is going to continue.”
“I’m not confident. I think there’s real risk; and as long as there’s no dialogue, that real risk is gonna continue,” Manfred said when asked if he was confident there would be a season.
It’s just a disaster for our game, absolutely no question about it. It shouldn’t be happening, and it’s important that we find a way to get past it and get the game back on the field for the benefit of our fans.”
Manfred’s comments didn’t go over well with baseball fans who have currently run out of patience with MLB owners.
So, Rob, explain to us how you can be 100% sure that there’s going to be baseball but not confident there will be baseball at the same time? hmmm. What changed between those statements 🤔🤔 Players told you to set the season, but it’s too early to set the season right now,

BLOOD ON YOUR HANDS MANFRED. YOU KILLED BASEBALL. THIS IS A DISGRACE. IT WAS ALL RIGHT THERE FOR YOU TO MAKE THE GAME BETTER AND MORE POPULAR THAN EVER THIS JULY! YOU COULD'VE CREATED SO MANY NEW FANS, YOUNGER FANS! SHAME ON YOU ROB MANFRED. SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME.

The MLB owners are fools, the players are shortsighted, but, man, does any individual look more incompetent in all this than Rob Manfred? As anybody who was affected by Dodger TV blackout already knows, the dude is one lousy commissioner

How humiliating is this? Tonight, Rob Manfred will appear on an ESPN special called "The Return of Sports" with five other commissioners — all of whom have restart plans already finalized.

Oh that’s weird cause a week ago you said there would be 100% chance of playing. Now the players tell you to implement the season you told/threatened us with it’s now our fault that there’s no dialogue? The players are ready and want to play. You made your bed now sleep in it Rob https://t.co/XLrMKHxsxG
