Mondo Duplantis proved, once again, that he is the greatest pole vaulter of all-time by smashing his own world record at the Olympics in Paris on Monday. The 24-year-old gold medalist then proceeded to party into Tuesday morning with his Swedish model girlfriend Desire Inglander.
Needless to say, he’s living his best life!
Duplantis was born in Lafayette, Louisiana. However, it is more lucrative for Duplantis to compete for his mother’s country of Sweden because track and field is a more prominent sport in Europe.
Although Duplantis does not compete for the United States, he is an international superstar. It is appointment viewing every time he steps onto the runway. You never know just how big he is going to go.
On Monday, he went the biggest. Literally. Duplantis shattered his own world record by flying more than 20 feet into the air on his final attempt at 6.25 meters and ran right over to Inglander in celebration.
The Swedish couple has been together for a few years now. Inglander typically follows Duplantis on the road when she isn’t too busy posing for Vogue. They live rather lavishly!
Monday night was not the exception.
Duplantis made his post-competitions plans abundantly clear during his post-meet press conference. He was fully prepared to stay out all night.
The party is going to be pretty big. Not that much sleep, a lot of partying, a good time.

If Tuesday morning was any indication, that is exactly what happened!
Duplantis appeared on Swedish television less than 24 hours after winning the gold. His hoarse voice and glassy eyes told the story of a long night in Paris.
He only got a few hours of sleep, if any. Breakfast was more like morning dinner.
I was able to have some fried chicken last night and then a pizza probably two hours ago, honestly. So we are off to a good start.

Mondo Duplantis is one of the biggest stars in the world as a pole vaulter. That cannot be said often.
Although there are a lot of challenges ahead of him, including another attempt at his own world record, the focus right now is on present.
Why would I think about anything else right now other than enjoying this moment? I always want to get better and do more, so I know motivation is not anything I need to worry about. But right now I’m going to enjoy the heck out of this.

Party on, Mondo! It’s your world, we’re just living in it!
