Caitlin Clark is fresh off a record-setting performance in which she broke the WNBA’s rookie single season scoring mark. Making the feat even better, the Fever won the contest and booked the No. 6 seed in the playoffs.

You might not have known it after the fact – At least not if you were tracking Indiana forward NaLyssa Smith’s X activity!

Smith came roaring out of the gates in most recent matchup, notching eight points and three boards in the first half. That sparked an online response from Dijonai Carrington, who happens to be in a relationship with Smith.

Unfortunately, it wouldn’t last!

NaLyssa Smith was removed from the game in the third quarter, and she wouldn’t see the floor again. She was held scoreless in the second half of action.

After the game, she responded to Dijonai Carrington’s post.

“Fun while it lasted babe,” the forward quipped as she watched teammates Tiffany Mitchell and Caitlin Clark rack up 30-point nights from the bench.

That reply has since been deleted.

The response sent Indiana Fever fans into tailspin. Many are calling for her roster spot.

At the center of much of that reaction is Dijonai Carrington’s budding rivalry with star Caitlin Clark. Smith’s reply was a double whammy as it both supported a hated foe and threw her own team under the bus!

The storyline has provided unnecessary drama as the Fever prep for a playoff appearance. After starting 2-9 in May, Indiana has gone 18-10 over the last three months to book a postseason spot.

We’ll see Clark and Co. are able to make some noise, and if there are any repercussions from NaLyssa Smith’s online antics.
