S.S.C. Napoli is one of the most famous club in all of Italian soccer.

The club has won Serie A, the top division in Italian soccer, three times. It has six Coppa Italia victories, and it won the UEFA Cup 1989.

But most notably, Napoli was home to perhaps the game’s greatest-ever player, Diego Maradonna, from 1984-1991.

Maradona’s run with the club was the most fruitful in the history of the azzuri. They won the Coppa Italia and Serie A in 1987 and followed it up with the UEFA Cup in 1989 and another Serie A title in 1990.

But it’s been hard times for Napoli since then.

The club struggled financially and was relegated all the way down to the third tier of Italian soccer following a bankruptcy in 2004. Aurelio De Laurentiis revived the club in 2004 and slowly but surely its worked its way back to the top of Italian soccer.

Napoli culminated that ascension on Thursday when a 1-1 draw with Udinese clinched the 2023 scudetto for Napoli with still five games remaining.

Superstars such as Nigerian striker Victor Oshimen and Georgian winger Kvicha Kvaratshkelia led the club to heights it hadn’t reached in over two decades.

And you better believe that Napoli fans, who are some of the most prideful in all of soccer, celebrated in a massive well.

The celebrations were so unreal that the U.S. Consulate in Naples had to put out a security warning.

“Spontaneous celebrations could last multiple days and there will be a corresponding increase in large, public gatherings, heavy traffic or road closures, significant use fireworks, and alcohol consumption throughout the city.”

Napoli fans have been waiting for years in hopes that one day their beloved club would return to the top. It’s now finally happened, and they’re going to enjoy each and every second of it.
