Earlier this week, we brought you the story of the NFL releasing a season kick-off hype video that featured Taylor Swift more than any player in the entire league.

Despite the aggressive nature with which the NFL has capitalized on Taylor Swift’s tangential involvement with the sport, NFL analyst Nate Burleson believes those fans who complain about it must get out of their “mama’s basement,” which is a common stereotype of the incel community.

“Get out of your feelings, ‘Oh are you upset, you’re a little mad because Taylor Swift is in the promo?’” Burleson said on The September 4 episode of CBS Mornings.

“Who cares! Wipe the drool off your tank top, put some pants on and get out your mama’s basement! I don’t understand what the big deal is! Every other sport can show celebrities at their games, we show Taylor Swift, and you get in your feels. Man, get out of your feelings and watch the games.”

Burleson, a former wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, and Cleveland Browns has become one of the most prominent personalities in NFL media in recent years as he has co-hosted Good Morning Football while also appearing on NFL on CBS, and The NFL Today. Burleson also serves as a co-host on the daily morning show CBS Mornings alongside Gayle King and Tony Dokoupil.

With Swift’s popular Eras Tour currently in the midst of a two-month-long hiatus, reports indicate that it’s “likely” the pop star will be in attendance at the Kansas City Chiefs 2024/25 home opener against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Kelce and the Chiefs, the defending Super Bowl champions, head into the 2024/25 season looking to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight titles.
