Scottsbluff is one of the best high school basketball programs in the state of Nebraska. The Bearcats recently took their game day experience to another level with an expansive on-court projection system.
The pressure to win now is greater than ever.
You can’t be the high school basketball team with the high-tech lineup introductions if you don’t win. That would be embarrassing.
Scottsbluff is a powerhouse in Nebraska.
Scottsbluff Senior High School is located in the largest city in the panhandle of Nebraska. Scottsbluff is the 13th-most populous city in the state.
As the largest high school in the panhandle, Scottsbluff houses some of the finest facilities in the region on approximately 15 acres. Founded more than 100 years ago, it currently enrolls somewhere between 850 and 1,000 students in grades 9-12. Closer to the former than the latter. Its student body is extremely diverse with a significant Hispanic/Latino and Native American population alongside White residents.
The Bearcats compete on the Class B level of competition in the Sunflower State. Their boys basketball program is one of the best.
Scottsbluff reached the state championship game last season. It has not lost 10 regular season games in a single season since 2018-19. That’s an impressive run!
The high school basketball facility received an upgrade.
At the center of Scottsbluff’s campus is the gymnasium. Crowds are rarely not sold out— or, at the very least, above average. For the boys games and for the girls games. The entire community shows out for hoops!
That was especially true on Tuesday night.
Not only did the Bearcats host one of the best teams in the state, they debuted a new upgrade to the high school basketball gym. A private donor paid for a new on-court projection system that costs at least $100,000 to install.
Scottsbluff’s pregame experience is now on another level. It looks like a college or pro team, with video that plays on the hardwood prior to the player-by-player introductions.
Prior to tonight’s basketball games against Ogallala, Scottsbluff unveiled a new, privately funded, on-court projection system. Here’s a look at the new system in action! pic.twitter.com/7CmTk3gaMd

This is a high school in Nebraska with less than 1,000 students!
Unfortunately, the Bearcats’ boys team lost by 12 points on its on-court projection system debut. That can’t happen. You deserve all of the bells and whistles if you don’t win. There are seven games left in the regular season to prove the new pregame videos are not just for show.
