The New England Patriots and head coach Mike Vrabel are one win away from becoming Super Bowl champions after outlasting the Denver Broncos, 10-7, in the AFC Championship Game.

But while winning the Super Bowl is the ultimate goal for any team and coach in the NFL, Vrabel might well be hoping that his team loses to the Seattle Seahawks, and for good reason.

In 2019, Vrabel made a promise that he may now regret if he could just win a Super Bowl as a head coach.

Mike Vrabel Said He’d Cut His Own D–K Off In Exchange For A Super Bowl

At the time, Vrabel was the head coach of the Tennessee Titans, whose roster included star tackle Taylor Lewan and had previously included lineback Will Compton.

Lewan and Compton, of course, formed the highly popular podcast Bussin’ With The Boys. But back in 2019, the show was in its infacy and Vrabel was one of the first guests, appearing on just the eighth episode.

As part of the episode, Lewan and Compton asked Vrabel what he would do to win a Super Bowl as a head coach despite having won three as a player for the Patriots under Bill Belichick.

They extended that question to ask whether Vrabel would be willing to cut his own d–k off for a Super Bowl. His answer is now one that he might regret.

“Oh, (I’ve) been married 20 years. Yeah, probably,” he said to a stunned Lewan, who responded that he’d already won three times. “As a player…You guys will be married for 20 years one day. You won’t need it.”

Vrabel then added that after 20 years of marriage, his wife wouldn’t be upset either.

As a strong believer in fate and karma, I’m not convinced Vrabel actually meant what he said. After all, it was just a hypothetical, right?

But if the Patriots go into Levi’s Stadium and beat the Seahawks in Super Bowl 60, Vrabel better keep his head (no pun intended) on a swivel at all times, because the world might come looking for repayment on that bargain.
