New Orleans Saints defensive back Ugo Amadi committed the most egregious flop of the entire NFL season against the Green Bay Packers on Monday night. If that was not embarrassing enough, he immediately gave up a wide-open touchdown that wouldn’t have been there if he didn’t go down.
Although the defensive failure did not impact the result, because the Packers blew out the Saints, this week’s film session is not going to be a fun time for the sixth-year safety.
Green Bay received the opening kickoff and drove 60 yards on nine plays in about six minutes to set up 3rd-and-goal at the three-yard-line. Jordan Love, a well-documented Toyotathon merchant, dropped back to pass. He immediately looked to his right.
There, wide receivers Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks ran a shallow crossing route right in front of the end zone. The goal was to get Reed open but New Orleans’ defense stuck with him so the read wasn’t there. Love threw to Wicks for six instead.

Upon further review, Ugo Amadi was entirely responsible for the blown coverage. He threw his arms into the air and fell backward to the ground after Wicks came across the middle to set a legal pick at the line of scrimmage. The flop was so ridiculous that even the English Premier League might’ve hit him with a card for simulation. And by flopping, Amadi allowed Wicks to just…. walk wide open into the end zone.
I'm sorry, but this is one of the funniest things I've ever seen on an NFL football field. Bro thought he was in the Premier League. pic.twitter.com/ZpYOjfEoBf

If Amadi had stayed on his feet, Love didn’t have anywhere to go. He might’ve thrown a ball into tight coverage. An incomplete pass would’ve forced a decision on fourth down. A pick would’ve swung the momentum in favor of the Saints.
Instead, Dontayvion Wicks was able to score the easiest touchdown of his career because of the most hilarious flop of the season. It was a tough look for Ugo Amadi.
