New York Giants Actually Called ESPN To Whine About Elle Duncan’s Ruthless Criticism Of Daniel Jones

The New York Giants completely bungled its treatment of Daniel Jones over the last few months. And if we’re being honest, he was always doomed to fail from the day that he was drafted No. 6 overall in 2019.

Unfortunately, the organization is apparently unable to handle any criticism of its poor management of its franchise quarterback over the last six years and called ESPN to whine about Elle Duncan’s impassioned rant about the entire sequence of events.

Jones, 27, was officially released by the Giants on Friday morning at his request. New York announced its decision to bench him in favor of Tommy DeVito earlier this week. He was then relegated to QB4 behind Cutlets, Drew Lock and Tim Boyle. He looked like a joyful school child at practice on Wednesday, and even stepped in for a few snaps as the scout team safety during a team install on Thursday.

There is a rather lucrative reason for his blithe demeanor. Jones is getting paid $35 million this year. It does not matter if he is on the field or not!

In fact, the contract on which Jones is playing (or not playing) continues to be at the center of criticism. The Giants paid him out like a superstar signal-caller after just one mediocre 9-7-1 season. That decision clearly did not pay off for the organization. Now he isn’t even on the team.

Jones gave his farewell to New York on Thursday afternoon with a mostly prewritten statement. His words, while sincere, were underwhelming. It was very bland.

Duncan did not hold back her thoughts on Jones’ goodbye during an impassioned rant on SportsCenter.

Even though Duncan said what most everybody was thinking, people were not happy. She stood by the 90-second diatribe during an appearance on First Take.

According to Stephen A. Smith, the New York Giants were among those who were/are upset with Elle Duncan. An unnamed representative of the organization supposedly reached out to ESPN to complain.

If what Smith said is true, it really doesn’t get any more lame. An NFL team, that has completely mishandled its quarterback situation for six-straight seasons, called the “Worldwide Leader in Sports” because it was being too mean. This is more embarrassing than how the Giants handled Daniel Jones!
