Kayvon Thibodeaux was on the receiving end of a tough report out of training camp.

The report claimed that he doesn’t give near the same effort as Aidan Hutchinson, who was drafted 3 spots ahead of him last year.

The New York Giants shocked many around the football world when they made a run to the playoffs last season and even earned an upset win once they were there.

Despite that success, there are still a few young players that the Giants are still waiting to see the best off.

One of those players is Kayvon Thibodeaux, who the Giants drafted 5th overall in 2022.

Based on a recent report, that best might not be on its way soon.

According to Rick Spielman the second year edge rusher’s effort was not quite what would be expected of him during practice earlier this week.

During the pre-draft process, Thibodeaux’s effort was one of the biggest questions about him.

His talent was never in doubt. At his best, he was one of the most impactful players on the field for a strong Oregon Ducks squad.

However, his performances weren’t the most consistent.

In his first NFL season, Thibodeaux struggled early on. He recorded just 1 sack in his first 9 games as a rookie.

He seemed to finally get things going late in the year. He had 3 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a touchdown over the last 5 games of the year.

The New York Giants will be hoping Thibodeaux can continue to look like the player he was at the end of last season, but they’ll be hoping they start to it during the preseason first.
