The New York Giants had another surprised for the football world this weekend.
The team was expected to finish this year below .500 once again, but through their first 4 games, they found themselves with a 3-1 record.
Still, there weren’t many expecting them to give the Packers much of a challenge in London in Week 5. They were more than a touchdown underdog for the international showcase.
They didn’t care. They fought back from a 17-3 1st half deficit to win 27-22.
While there were a bunch of positives to take from the game, there is one interesting situation that has arisen in the aftermath of the game.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo, the Giants’ punter, Jamie Gillan, is stuck in London because of a passport issue.
New York Giants punter remains in London because of a passport issue
#Giants P Jamie Gillan remains in London following the trip over the weekend as he works through some passport issues, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. “The Scottish Hammer” is expected to fly back to the U.S. on Thursday, though the team will work out punters just in case.

According to Garofolo, this was an issue that the Giants knew about and were preparing to deal with before the trip. Gillan is also expected to be back in the US in time for Sunday’s game against the Ravens.
The #Giants and Gillan knew about the potential passport issues for the return flight in advance of the trip. They’re expecting him back in advance of Sunday’s game against the #Ravens.

Gillan has performed well for the Giants in his first year with the team, averaging 51 yards per punt.
The Giants will be hoping not to need Gillan to do too much this weekend as they attempt to improve their record to 5-1 against the Ravens.
