Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl Kicker Brandon Aubrey Misses Practice Due To Jury Duty

If you scan NFL injury lists on any given week you’ll find a number of reasons why players miss practice.

There are knee injuries, shoulder injuries, rest days, personal matters – you see them all.

But Wednesday gave us a first when Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl kicker Brandon Aubrey missed practice because he was summoned for jury duty.

Aubrey became an overnight superstar for the Cowboys in 2023. The then 28-year-old rookie, a former Major League Soccer player turned USFL champion, made 36-of-38 field goal attempts, including all 10 from beyond 50 yards.

Aubrey’s first career miss from 50-plus came in a victory over the New York Giants earlier this season.

But even the being the best kicker in the NFL isn’t enough to get you out of your civic duty. There’s no word on if Aubrey asked out of jury duty and was denied or if he felt compelled to go.

You’d have to think it’s the former. But even so, you’d also think Jerry Jones has the power in the state of Texas to get his players out of jury duty.
