Not counting the predictably dominant Kansas City Chiefs, who currently lead the division with a record of 3-1, the other three AFC West teams — Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, and Denver Broncos — have combined for just five wins so far this season.
Normally, though about five weeks in the season, this wouldn’t be all that big of a deal. However, combined with the aggressively subpar play of Russell Wilson in Denver so far, NFL fans find the current state of the AFC West to be quite hilarious considering NFL analysts spent the offseason touting it as the best division in the ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. Yikes.
With Week 5 kicking off on Thursday with Broncos vs. Colts, the AFC West has just one team with a winning record right now, and that’s the Chiefs. Other than that, the Raiders have just one win, and that’s because they were able to beat the Broncos.
Meanwhile, the Chargers — who were touted by some to reach the Super Bowl — haven’t exactly lit the world on fire either, as they currently sit at just 2-2.
Following the Broncos’ putrid performance on Thursday night against the equally disappointing Indianapolis Colts, NFL fans took to Twitter to joke about how grossly overhyped the AFC West was, as it appears as though the division will once again belong to Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Football fans are ripping on the AFC West for being foolishly touted by some as the best division in the history of the NFL

It’s crazy how the AFC West went from being the best division in football over the summer to looking like the Chiefs and everybody else for the seventh straight year.

This weekend, the Raiders and Chiefs will face off against each other in Kansas City, while the Chargers will travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns.
As for the Broncos, they’ve got 11 days to get their offense sorted out before taking on the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday, October 17.
