Tom Brady’s first season as an NFL announcer has been a mixed bag, to say the least. While Brady is arguably the greatest football player of all time, his broadcasting skills are quite up to that standard, certainly during his first season.

After retiring from the NFL in 2022, Brady signed a 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox Sports to be their lead NFL announcer and began that role this year, calling games alongside Kevin Burkhardt, who spent last season alongside the widely respected Greg Olsen, who many NFL fans believe got screwed out of being Fox’s lead announcer.

Tom Brady got off to a rocky start and while he’s shown signs of improvement, his performances are still being routinely criticized, — while calling the Ravens-Steelers game on Decemer 21, for example, The Athletic‘s Andrew Marchand declared that Brady had “regressed” and is adding “no extra insight.”

With the tepid reception to his broadcasting style and his growing responsibilities as a partial owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, Marchand’s The Athletic colleague Richard Deitsch is now predicting that TB12 will pull the plug on is broadcast career after just one season.

“I’ve previously said I’d put down big money that Brady will not finish his 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox, given all his various business interests away from broadcasting, including ownership. That remains true,” Richard Deitsch reported for The Athletic.

“The safer prediction would be that Brady walks away from his Fox deal after three or four years. But I’m going bold and saying Brady gets deeper involved with the Las Vegas Raiders in the offseason and decides to go all in with NFL ownership and his production company by the start of the next NFL season.”

Unfortunately for those who haven’t been enjoying Brady’s commentary, Fox will be the broadcasters of the Super Bowl this year, meaning Brady will be on the air throughout the entirety of the 2024 NFL playoffs.
