There are few simple pleasures better than watching seven hours of commercial-free football on the NFL Red Zone channel on an NFL Sunday. But, things went haywire during the late window witching hour when an alarm started to go off in the production’s studios in Inglewood, California.

Here’s a video of what viewers saw as the alarm went off in the studio. Take a look.

Granted, he did not know what the alarm was sounding for, but longtime NFL Red Zone anchor Scott Hanson took it deathly serious. This was his Walter Cronkite moment.

Thankfully, Hanson was allowed to return to the studio just a few short minutes after the alarm started, even though the alarm was still going off. He let viewers know that he had been given the all-clear to return to the studio despite the alarm clearly still going off in the background.

Unfortunately, Sunday’s NFL Red Zone broadcast was almost over, because having Scott Hanson do the show while an alarm blares in the background would’ve been incredible.

Hanson spoke out on the events after the broadcast ended.

All in all, just another memorable day of NFL Red Zone action.
