The scenes out of Petco Park in San Diego during the Padres Wild Card Round series against the Atlanta Braves were so electric that it reminded sports fans just how absurd it is that the NFL took the Chargers out of the city and brought them to Los Angeles.

While the San Diego Padres fans were having a blast in general, one particular viral video of the crowd singing “All the Small Things” — blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge is a San Diego native and a huge Padres fan — reminded everyone what a great sports town San Diego is.

“Looking at this San Diego crowd I don’t know how you could take an NFL team away from this city,” one sports fan tweeted.

“If the NFL ever expands again San Diego should be one of the top places for them to put an expansion team. San Diego NFL vs. Chargers rivalry would feed families and would easily be the most heated rivalry in the NFL due to what happened between San Diego and the Chargers,” suggested an apparent San Diego sports fan.

“I will never forgive [Chargers owner] Dean Spanos for taking football away from this city,” another succinctly summarized.

“I hope the Padres go far in the playoffs. San Diego is a sports city. San Diego should have an NFL team again,” added a sports journalist.

With their 2-0 Wild Card Round series win over the Atlanta Braves, the San Diego Padres have advanced to the National League Divisional Series, where they’ll take on presumptive NL MVP Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
