The NFL is currently involved in a hotly debated court case with two former 49ers players, Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid, who both claim the league is colluding to keep them out of the league because of their decision to protest the national anthem.

According to a report from activist journalist Shaun King, several NFL stars are fed up with the league and are planning to take matters into their own hands to ensure that Kaepernick and Reid are both given jobs next season.

BREAKING: Several star @NFL players have told me they are considering sitting out the season until the de facto ban of Eric Reid and Colin Kaepernick is removed and both men are given spots back on rosters.

They aim to get 25% of the players to sit out with them.

The players threat to sit out comes a week after the NFL installed a new national anthem policy that would punish teams of players on the field who decided to “disrespect the anthem”.

It’s unclear who is currently involved in the potential boycott but I find it hard to believe that several prominent players would be willing to go through with it considering how little backlash the NFL got over its new anthem policy from players.
