Nick Saban Says Auburn Is ‘Best Team We’ve Played’ But According To My Sources Bama Did In Fact Play LSU Earlier This Year

Alabama lost to LSU just 16 days ago, but it sure sounds like Nick Saban has completely wiped that memory from his mind.

During his Monday press conference, the Alabama head coach said that Auburn is ‘the best team we’ve played, probably so far this year’ which is a wild statement seeing as how *checks with my sources* the Crimson Tide did, in fact, play LSU on Nov. 9.

The final score of said Alabama – LSU game was 46-41 in favor of the Tigers.

In Saban’s defense, this year marked the first time since 2011 that LSU knocked off the Tide so maybe Saban simply did forget about the contest.

This isn’t a shot at Auburn, either. The Tigers are a good football team, but to even compare them to the No. 1 team in the land is preposterous, even if Saban is just paying respect to Auburn and the Iron Bowl. Another spin zone is that Saban is getting out in front of things if the Tua Tagovailoa-less Tide is to fall to the Tigers in Auburn on Saturday afternoon.

You can’t ever question Saban’s tactics, that’s for sure.

Alabama got a bit of a boost when it comes to its chances of sneaking into the College Football Playoff with Oregon’s loss over the weekend but still find themselves on the outside looking in heading into Saturday’s action.

Auburn will look to spoil Alabama’s dreams in the 84th edition of the Iron Bowl on Saturday at 3:30 PM EST.
