South Garner star Chloe Crawford was not able to finish out her senior year of high school basketball in North Carolina due to an injury. However, the North Carolina Central commit still made the box score on senior night due to a powerful act of sportsmanship.

The game officially started at 2-2.

Chloe Crawford is a rising star.

Crawford is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the women’s college basketball recruiting Class of 2026. The 6-foot-1 small forward ranks as the No. 36 overall player in the Old North State and the No. 5 player at her position. She was named as an all-conference player in the Triangle North Athletic Conference last season and was right on pace to finish with similar accolades this season.

Unfortunately, a knee injury cut Chloe Crawford’s senior campaign short in January.

Although it did not end as she had hoped, Crawford reminded the world of her greatness before she was relegated to the bench for medical reasons. Her midseason highlight tape speaks for itself.

Crawford plays for South Garner High School in Garner, North Carolina, less than 15 miles southeast of Raleigh. The Titans finished the regular season with an overall record of 19-6 and an undefeated record in conference play. She will go on to play for North Carolina Central in college.

Crawford currently plays the small forward position. The Eagles could very easily move her to guard because of her handles.

We’ll see what North Carolina Central decides to do. It does not matter where she plays on the floor. Chloe Crawford is going to get hers!

Sportsmanship prevails in high school basketball.

The final regular season game of Crawford’s high school basketball career took place on Feb. 13. South Garner hosted (and defeated) Southeast Raleigh.

Chloe Crawford could not fully participate in the game because of her injury but that did not stop her from scoring! The Titans and the Bulldogs came to a special agreement prior to tipoff.

Crawford limped her way onto the court and stood directly under the basket. Southeast Raleigh conceded the opening tip to South Gardner, which passed the ball up to its injured senior for an easy layup. The Titans immediately called a timeout so her teammates could celebrate her incredible career, and to allow her to limp back off of the floor on her crutches.

If that was not cool enough, the Bulldogs were free to score an easy layup on the next possession. The game picked back up at 2-2 instead of 0-0.

Crawford will forever be a legend at South Garner High School. She deserved one last opportunity to score on her home floor on Senior Night. It was super cool of Southeast Raleigh to give her that chance!
