Ohio State Unveils New Bacon Vending Machine At Football Stadium And We Have Questions

The Ohio State Buckeyes have one of the best college football teams in the nation yet again.

That comes as no surprise after the Buckeyes reportedly spent the equivalent of the GDP of a small island nation on its 2024 roster.

But what does come as a surprise is Ohio State’s new dining option at The Horseshoe, which comes in the form of a bacon vending machine.

That’s right. We said bacon vending machine.

Ohio State announced Wednesday that the machine had been installed in the south stands at The Shoe as part of a partnership with the Ohio Pork Council.

And surprisingly enough, it’s not even the first bacon vending machine at Ohio State! The Buckeyes installed a similar machine on campus several years ago.

But we have some questions.

First off, the machine has to be refrigerated, right?

And that means all the products are likely precooked.

But how do you heat them up? Can you just take them to the nearest concession stand and ask them to throw them on your cheeseburger?

Ohio State Fans Trash New Bacon Vending Machine At The Horseshoe

Somewhat surprisingly, Ohio State fans weren’t overly excited about the new machine.

Everyone: We want better scoreboards, bathrooms, lights, sound systems, turf. Ohio State: Here’s a bacon vending machine,” one fan tweeted.

Seriously? The place looks like a trash heap and this is what you come up with,” wrote another.

Ohio Stadium opened in 1922 and while it’s seen plenty of renovations in the century since, it’s still one of the oldest stadiums in college football.

That being said, Buckeyes fans have been spoiled with one of the nation’s top programs for decades. So maybe they should this one out.

As for the bacon machine, it comes in a close second for the best pork-related ad campaign in college football in recent years.
