Ohio State won the college football national championship on Monday night but Will Howard and Ryan Day nearly missed out on the postgame press conference due to a hilarious, cartoon-like wreck. Nobody was injured but the chauffeur is horribly embarrassed this morning after her awkward moment was captured on camera and went extremely viral on social media.
Fortunately, it was just a golf cart at a (fairly) low speed. It could’ve been a lot worse.
Howard and Cody Simon were fresh off of their on-field celebration. They joined their college football coach on the back of a golf cart alongside athletic director Ross Bjork and a few security officers for a quick trip to the other end of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The trip did not last long before they were forced to walk.
A blonde woman put the car in drive, put her foot on the gas and slammed right into the wall in front of her. It was not a little tap. She hit the wall with enough force to jolt her passengers forward.
If that was not awkward enough, her attempt to put the golf cart in reverse was an epic failure.

The crash created irreversible damage to the wheel and rendered the vehicle useless so the traveling party had to get out and walk! Day and Bjork were not amused. Howard and Simon were geeked.
OOPS! 🤣🤣 Ohio State’s CFP golf cart driver took a turn into the brick wall on the way to their post game presser…

Ryan Day, Will Howard and Cody Simon had to walk the rest of the way to the media room. Quite the laugh for the national champ bucks, Coach Day seemingly… pic.twitter.com/vbnrNC8Fs2

Fear not, everyone was OK. And they delivered tremendous quotes at the press conference. pic.twitter.com/5nOIeD8Xik
Howard, Simon, Day and Bjork were completely fine but he same cannot be said for the golf cart. It needs extensive repairs to the front axel.

As of this moment, it is unclear as to who was behind the wheel. We will likely never find out. She might’ve been a staffer employed by the College Football Playoff. She might be employed by Ohio State.
Either way, the woman is at the center of the most viral sports video on the internet on Tuesday morning. The original clip has been viewed more than 10 million times across various accounts. OOPS!
