The Ohio State football team lost to rival Indiana in the Big Ten Championship Game, 13-10. The Buckeyes missed a 27-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter that would’ve tied the score.

Kicker Jayden Fielding is getting attention following the loss. He’s gone viral on social media due to an apparent interaction with Hoosier fans prior to that miss.

In the video, it appears Fielding was baited into an exchange with Indiana fans while on the sidelines. That conversation occurred in the first half according to the time on the scoreboard.

At the time, Ohio State was leading 10-6. The mood was a bit different on the Buckeyes‘ bench. It would later get very tense.

Ohio State did not score over the final 40 minutes of action. They took a 10-3 lead with just over 10 minutes remaining in the second quarter. It was all Indiana after that.

The Hoosiers scored the final 10 points of the game to win by a field goal. Ohio State’s attempt to force overtime failed.

Ohio State fans are not happy with their kicker.

Fielding has been a Buckeye for four seasons. He’s been extremely reliable in that time.

The special teamer has connected on 176 of 177 extra points. He’s hit more than 80% of his 56 field goal tries. That includes a 16-of-19 success rate in 2025.

He’s not off target often. Unfortunately, his misses have been big.

In Ohio State’s 13-10 loss to Michigan last year, he misfired on a pair of kicks inside 40 yards. It proved to be the difference in the game.

Those memories were top of mind in his most recent performance against Indiana. The back-and-forth on the sidelines with Hoosier fans only added to their frustration.

With the loss, Ohio State fell to No. 2 in the final CFP rankings. Indiana won its first Big Ten title since 1967.

Both will compete for a national championship in the College Football Playoff.
