The College Football Playoff opens during finals week. Tests originally expected to be taken that Friday have been moved up to accommodate the game. The weekend will start early!

With the day now freed up, those nearby students can make the short trip to the stadium to begin the tailgate. They can crack open a cold one as opposed to studying for a test.

There will be no rush to wrap up exams and book it to the football venue. The focus will be solely on the playoff game.

We’ve seen others do this in the past. Indiana, for example, made it a point to adjust its graduation schedule to allow students and families an opportunity to make the trip to Notre Dame for last year’s playoff game.

Class cancellations have been seen throughout the regular season, too, though some prioritize academics over football.

Gates are expected to open six hours prior to the 7 PM CT kickoff. The Sooners will look to beat the Crimson Tide for a second time in 2025. Students will be ready to root on the home team!
