A student at the University of Oklahoma won $20,000 during a stoppage of play at the Thunder game on Thursday night. His first instinct was to troll the University of Texas with ‘Horns Down.’

It is the perfect way to respond to any situation and could not be funnier.

Jake Amy, a resident of Edmond, made the short 30-minute drive from Norman to Oklahoma City to watch his NBA team host the Dallas Mavericks. Although the Thunder lost by six, the 19-year-old sophomore was a big winner. He was selected out of the crowd to shoot a half-court shot for a five-figure check presented by MidFirst Bank. He did not miss!

Amy said that he was going to use the money to buy his girlfriend something nice and invest the rest. The whole stadium went absolutely bonkers when the shot went in the hoop.

He received a lucky fist bump from Rumble the Bison, lined up his shot and let it rip. It bounced off of the front rim, bounced off of the back rim, rolled around in a clockwise circle, bounced straight up in the air and eventually dropped. All 18,000 fans at the Paycom Center held their collective breath alongside Amy.

He did not know how to react when the shot went in. His natural instincts took over.

As a Sooners fan, that includes ‘Horns Down.’ Amy’s first thought after winning $20,000 was to mock the Longhorns with a hand signal they have repeatedly tried to eradicate from college sports. It was a big hit in Oklahoma City. The people loved it.

This is what college sports are all about! No matter the moment, the Red River Shootout Rivalry prevails. There was not even a second of hesitation before Jake Amy threw ‘Horns Down’ at the Oklahoma City Thunder game on Thursday night. Tough night to be a Longhorn.
